UNFRUITFUL POLITICAL CONTRAPTION THAT IS NEVER GREEN: Re: FFK

Historical Synopsis of Why FFK's position is no fall short of bravery... Meant only for the Openminded, Willing and Patient Readers
Sincerely I found it quite challenging to make a little remark on the piece of Femi Fani-Kayode. The challenge is not herewith deemed on the difficulty of the subject matter, rather, on where and how the audience would view this position through the most unbiased lenses.
Truth be told, we live in a world apartment of a large chunk of non-deliberately ludicrous and historically half-baked beings. A populace that critically charades mediocrity as an enthroned virtue. Worst still, they are so genuinely oblivious of themselves in this perspectives. Now my case is, if a scenario was painted, I could only attest to it, to the extent best of my mental capability, while continually appealing for more enlightenment.
The foregoing obita-dicta serves as a guiding prologue nonetheless to a thorough dissection of FFK's essay: 'I say goodbye to Nigeria...'
As I first stumbled across this piece on the Facebook today, a piece that has over the years generated a continued conundrum in my seeking directional quest within my conscious worrisome. I had painstakingly read through and came up with a critique in the manner that shall precede.
In the habit of an average usual Nigerian, a messenger is often a victim of attack, rather the message. In this sense, majority of these Nigerians would be quick to jump into a vehicle of bandwagon cynicism once it's against a standing conventional position, even when they do not possess an adequate defensive mechanism of why they have acutely opted for their status-quo.
To this extent, I make bold to categorically emphasize that Nigeria remains an highly unprogressive setting populated by drag-footed heart-lazy lagging-behind beings, a source of worry for the future.
Again, the necessity to stop by on the way becomes so veritable to buttressing the point of a foundational dissection of the kind of beings who sojourn on this platform of historic terra firma. Are we Nigerians really created this way, or the bastardization of our enmeshed historical uprising has repositioned our mentality in this corruptible thinking?
Where exactly am I heading?
Only the patient ones can thoroughly dissect this piece. What I have seen over the years is that an average Nigerian who claims understanding into the Nigerian history without actually knowing as acclaimed jumps into criticism of an argument, even when the nittygritty is unknown to him/her. Such ignorance defense is worst enough, but the insistence on his/her point of ignorance is dastardly terrible beyond qualification.
About two years now, the late literary icon Chinua Achebe made some insinuations towards the rationale for the defeat of the old Biafra in his book 'there was a country...', in which he raised his personal account and perception of the role of the yoruba most revered and greatest legend/icon, late Chief Obafemi Awolowo. Upon the release of this book, Nigerian uneducated social media critics threw caution into the wind, raining all manner of abusive connotations against this book, the idea & the writer by extension, even when majority of these people were yet to see the cover-page of the book, let alone the content.
After I took my time to digest the book's content, weighing it side by side with social media criticism, I knew Nigeria is in for a mess.
Similarly, FFK made a statement in his newly submitted essay: '... Give us Oduduwa Republic...'. This phrase did not stand aloof of facts and figures raised in the body of the essay. There were undeniable ad infinitum drawbacks that a section of this country, the North precisely, has caused the other part(s), under the auspices of continued bombing, killing, arson, ideological imposition, bigotry...
Let it be noted, I am not holding a brief for FFK, neither is this piece an intent to coil for any favor from his caucus. Rather, understanding the country of Nigeria from genesis till date, it is crystal clear that Nigeria is not only a failed state, there has never been one country in it real sense of an agreeable system called Nigeria.
Academically & historically stated, 'Nigeria' remained a mere political contraption till 1954, when Federalism was introduced, so where & how the centenary celebration was arrived at in 2014 is a matter of condemnation till tomorrow. Well, this is not where I am going. Nigeria had/has never been, irrespective of who says it, whether FFK, Abacha or Achebe. The truth is there was a potential country that was to be known as Nigeria, but she remains a stillborn, till date... If you have ever pondered on the title 'there WAS a country...'
Now, rather than attacking FFk for exposing the reality, I urge some of us into a few historical accounts of Nigeria under Macpheson/Lyttleton Constitutions up unto the self rule of the old Regions attainment of 1957, 1958 & 1959, linking it with the Independence & first Republic politics, by the time you can subject your mind into openness, you would realise that not until the torn of North is left alone to be on her own, the Southern part of the country has got no where to advance.
I can be very succinct in recapturing some of the then events that would make an average rational & historically informed mind to say indeed, this contraption is the main thorn on every flesh. Alas, it's such an irreconcilable sandwich that has continually sent innocents into early grave since the Western Region crisis of 1962/1963, Jan 1966 coup, July '66 'counter coup', the pogrom that followed, the eventual civil war which sent a lacuna in human development of the South/Eastern region, as well as the bokoharam war of unrelenting nature.
Straight to a few of the histories: Dr Nnamdi Azikwe was a very brilliant chap in his time who wielded so much eloquence, oration & charisma in the political drama of his time. He was thoroughly educated and enlightened, and he dreamt of becoming the Premier in Ibadan, rather than Enugu, a position that Late Awolowo tactically strategized against in the game of politics. The loss of that election to Awo in 1952 owing to Awo extra ordinary human being that he was, more so, that he (Awo) was a Yoruba man, led to the deep seated enmity between Awo & Zik for so long. While Awo was canvassing for self rule for his region and Independence for the country by extension which culminated into motion for Nigeria independence by AG Anthony Enahoro in 1953, the North remained fully passive and contented with the status quo.
The progressive nature of Awolowo against deep seated colonialism earned him a full grown enmity against the British imperials, costing him his political career of delivering the country from the dungeon of blindness that she was going to be plunged.
Awo, a knowledge personified himself, and tested hand of forefront most leading in the continent educational value, housing, health & effective planning for future.
The irony was, despite Awo's undeniable pathfinding, self-navigating and self starting portfolio, the mantle of leadership was handed to a planless and real clueless conservative North. From which day onward Nigeria had never known peace.
You may not fully comprehend the gravity of this, until you go into yours personal historical account as sighted above. Histories don't lie!
One thing was significant during this time in fairness to Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna/ 'the facto Prime Minister'. He kept emphasizing that Nigerian components had lots of differences. He would say "We should remember our differences". While Zik would reply: "We should forget our differences". And Awo made effort for an establishment of confederalism to allow for easy secession in case the center would no longer hold.
Of all these instances, it could be deduced that the founding father of the Northern region had known that North is of a different value, ethoes and ethics. Hence, he had wanted a sectionalized and differentiated system. Historically again, the North rejected self rule for her region because there were no adequate manpower at the time, and for a fear of domination. In this sense, could it not be deduced it North would never partake in an event that is not first and foremost to their large advantage. When a lagging behind setting got her self rule in 1959, she was also the same one that set the precedence for Nigeria of today in a shabby foundational structure.
Since the late 1950s till date, the North has played out their simple ideology 'born to rule'. Since the days of Balewa, Gowon, Muritala, Buhari, Babangida, Abacha, Yaradua &AbdulSalam. We have had only one westerner 'Obasanjo' & one Southerner 'Ebele'!!! Hmmm!
Yet bokoharam sprung up from a total neglect of their region by people of their own.
Anytime the North wanted anything, the caricature country provides for them: Sharia law & Bank of the North. Even same, almost sharia banking. Yet there's no bank of the South or the west.
I have come to realize that the Southern part of Nigeria has live all her life for the north. Resources are taken from the South to develop the North. You need to see double lanes that pass through Abuja to Kaduna, Kano, Katsina etc & weigh it Benin Ore road...
Now, bokoharam wants islamization of the country, thereby killing all, bombing all, kidnapping all amongst others.
Shetima argued for a marriage of kids, he & many of his contemporaries had their ways
One blunt truth is Nigeria can afford great splitting. When North Korean continually pursued an aggressive policy of mass destruction, South Korea seceded, & today SK is always good in the news, as one of the most industrialized nations in the world scaling from 3rd world to a 1st world setting.
In the North, for you to be employed in a prolific employment, ability to communicate in Hausa is always mainly key. While the vlaues / traditions of the Southerners are subsumed for the nationality sake.
Really, we have been living for the North too well. Yet peace is far from Nigeria.
Whether it is the Tinubus or the Akalas of this world that would rule us, it's immaterial, splitting peacefully is indeed a right step in the right direction. Coexistence shouldn't be a hallmark of force.
Hence, even the North can fully align with her muslim breathrens in the upper African north,or middle east without having to mutilate the christian sabongari brethren...
To be continued...

JUSTICE: SELECTIVE JUSTICE, A BANE TO EQUALITY!

NANS factional President jailed 12 years for collecting N500, 000 under pretense.
Country people, yesterday, Justice O.A Adeniyi of Federal High Court sitting in Abuja sentenced a former Factional President of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, Comrade Ibiloma Abdullhi to 12 years imprisonment without an option of fine for collecting N500, 000 under pretense from Alhaji Sanni Lulu, former President, Nigerian Football Federation-Impersonation.
Ebilomoa ran a faction as NANS President with Comrade Babale in 2009. The Kano State born Babale is presently a member of the Federal House of Representatives.
Babale and his group kidnapped Ebiloma in 2009 and handed him over to EFCC for prosecution.
Ebiloma and Babale both contested for NANS Presidency in 2009.
According to most Nigerian Students, Babale won the 2009 election but Ibiloma did not accept defeat, prompting him to ran a faction with Babale.
Ebiloma was accused of paying a courtesy visit to Bauchi State Governor, Isa Yuguda in 2009 as NANS President.
Ibiloma was also accused of forgery because he presented an identity card claiming to be a Student of FUTMINA whereas he has been rusticated from the institution.
The Registrar of FUTMINA came to court to testify against Ebiloma.
Succinctly, Ebiloma was jailed for 12 years for collecting N500, 000 under pretense-impersonation. He was jailed for impersonating as NANS President and as a Student of FUT-MINNA.
Fellow Nigerians, may I ask that were Nigerian Laws made only for the Poor? I concur that Ebiloma was guilty as charged, but why would the same court that sentenced Maina of Police Pension that stole N2.6bn to 2 years imprisonment with an option of fine of N750, 000 jailed the poor Ibiloma for 12 years for collecting N500, 000 under pretense?
What's the interest of EFCC in this case? The same court sentenced Cecilia Ibru, Tafa Balogun, Alameisghia, igbinedon etc to 6 months imprisonment despite the billions of the tax-payers' money they stole. The judgment of Justice Adeniyi was just too harsh. Haba!
There have been factions in NANS for long. Ibiloma was not the first and the last to run faction in NANS.
I also put it to the petitioner, Comrade Babale that he stole NANS money. He used Nigerian Students to enriched himself. The petitioner left NANS presidency to contest for House of Reps in Kano and won.
The judgment of Justice Adeniyi was too harsh. The verdict is questionable. Ibiloma was rusticated from FUTMINA, not expelled. He was rusticated along side Egghead Odewale, Dan Onje, etc for fighting for the students of FUTMINA over lack of water, power supply and most importantly, 300% increment of their school fee. Ibiloma is now on his own.
Once again, I agree that Ibiloma was guilty of impersonation because he didn't win the election, Babale won, but the judgment was just too harsh.
If Ibiloma could bag a-10year jail term for impersonating, I wish to ask from the Nigerian authorities of when Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State would be charged to court for impersonating Governor Amaechi of Rivers State as the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors' Forum?
I call on the Civil Societies, the Activists, the Media, NGOs, the Students etc to rise up against Justice Adeniyi of Abuja Federal High Court. This is travesty of justice. ...Kogi State born Ibiloma jailed 12 years without an option of fine because of N500, 000? I perceived the hands of Esua and Jacob in the case.
The likes of Maina, Ibru, Igbenedon, Tafa Balogun, Alamesghia were super-made human beings? Chai...dia ris God ooooooo!

BOKO HARAM: THE MULTI-FACETED ENEMY!

From Ghana to NY, London to the Streets of Kenya Jonathan have earned Nigeria a disgrace. The world media have something to say at least he is been mocked in every corner of the world. Yes and by that dumb American news guys who called Nigeria Kenya more twice CNN, BBC use the picture of innocent girls from Guinea Bissau who were never kidnapped or married off by the Islamic terrorist Boko Haram all a sense of mighty white will save black mentality. For Jonathan apologist especially his kinsmen who see nothing wrong in his style are you satisfied now with this ridicule of our nation already soiled pride. The Americans, British, Israeli's and Chinese are offering help as if we have a natural disaster.Yet this government have spent the highest money on security. I have said it on a number of occasion that been in leadership does not make you a leader Jonathan is a good example of this. A friend have said she would sue me if I attack the person of the president again but do we deserve a mediocre president like him.
Am also bothered that the world choose to talk, our women suddenly woke up from there slumber when girls were kidnapped. I cannot figure out what has made mothers, media and our so called activist silent when boys where killed in there hundreds in schools and the girls where told to go home that education is haram. Same incidence happened in a polytechnic in which the girls were spared but the males are killed. We have choose to believe in myth of fragile girl and male superior power. Be it male or female we are all affected but I see this as a silent war against boys, a clear case that men could waste and nothing happens, a clear neglect on the part of fathers to stand for there son. A denial of the obvious on the part of mothers while their sons seem less important to them than there daughters or is it a reflex of feminism that have engulf the modern world. Hoffsommer Christina in her book "the war against boys" illustrated how society allows men to erode in dignity turning a blind eye to male gradual fall in every known sphere and how women will bear the bunch as well. Its not a gender war but we should stand for our kids be they male or female.
Sudden awakening of our Muslim brothers who now use every opportunity to tell us Islam is peace and that BH is not Islam I agreed to all this fact. BH says they want sharia as law of a secular Nigerian state, BH kidnapped girls majorly Christians and forced them to convert to Islam putting hijab on them while the videos showed by them making Arabic citations. So what religion is this or have caused death in Nigeria since her creation claiming its a fight for God. Where is BH worship centre, what is the name of there god. Since our muslim brothers are saying they not Muslim this questions need answers. Bh are muslims extremist a product of certain teachings and inbreed acceptance by community. we all know they call Allah at every given opportunity.Sultan of Sokoto who is also the leader of Muslims in Nigeria indeed supported BH at the beginning his comments are there on pages of news papers which I cannot remember him deny at the time. My take is that Muslims have not done enough to purge themselves of the extremist among them. There is indeed a level of intolerance up north about religion. When BH started its like its what they want so they did not fight it. Silence is a form of acceptance. They need to do more no one will believe them. I have Muslim friends who I respect so much but I am disappointment when BH first started they came with excuses, oh its poverty, they are fighting government's corruption but they selectively started with some set of people going to churches and known christian communities and later to fighting there own kinsmen when they are done subduing christian amist them. If these guys who supported BH before now says otherwise now why should such persons be trusted. And of late more Muslim leaders have said they are our common enemy. How are we sure BH is our common enemy how sure are we that we are all in the same fight with these nefarious blood suckers.
I feel we should begin to regulate religious practice in Nigeria but this can lead to suppression of religious freedom which is been done through the back door by this ilsamic terrorist. Nigeria should also begin to operate as a full secular state as declared in our statute books. Our present constitution indeed supported sharia which was smuggled in by Abdusalami Abubakar before he left power and that is what has been causing problem for us since democratic practice started that should be expunged. States should not be allowed to sponsor anyone to Mecca or Jerusalem. I personally have more questions than answers. All this is a shame to Nigeria. I implore all to pray for our nation we need God more now than ever before.

NIGERIA! THE QUAGMIRE OF LEADERSHIP!

Leadership is all about responsibility which only the prepared should be given such opportunity. According to Myles Munroe “Leadership is the capacity to influence others through inspiration motivated by passion, generated by vision, produced by a conviction, ignited by a purpose.” I have read about leaders in books and have seen leaders on television but i am yet to feel the impact of good leadership in the capacity of the Nigerian president.
I am an ardent supporter of President Barak Obama and this is based on the fact that his level of influence on the present crop of youth leaders emerging worldwide is quite encouraging.
I am really sad and disappointed in the president of Nigeria based on his leadership style. In 2010, after i submitted my final year project, I joined the Save Nigeria Group in a protest held in Abuja which sought to ensure the constitution was  followed to make sure that there was stability in the polity. The beneficiary of my protest that fateful day is the President Jonathan who was made the acting president after the senate under the leadership of Senator David Mark came up with the doctrine of necessity. lest we forget, the covenor of the Save Nigeria Group is Pastor Tunde Bakare , who a lot of Jonathan apologists have derided because of his stance against so many corrupt practices witnessed under the current administration.
In 2012, I was among those who mobilized youths to protest in my locality against the removal of oil subsidy before palliative measures are put in place. I traveled from Ife to Abuja to embark on a protest for the protest of 2010 which favoured President Jonathan, neither was I paid for the oil subsidy protest of 2012 which was against a policy made by this same leader. It is rather unfortunate that this same man will say I was paid to protest against a policy made by him.
The latest media chat held by the president has been riddled with so many flaws which are not expected from the leader of the World most populous black Nation.
On Corruption
The president said corruption has been blown out of proportion in Nigeria, while in Namibia. The president even said what some people call corruption was like petty stealing. We need to understand that corruption is like HIV which simply breaks down the immune system thereby various forms of illnesses spring up. The president should not make people feel as if corruption can be wished away without being aggressive against it. The last time EFCC has been influential in Nigeria in the fight against corruption was in the era of Nuhu Ribadu who was very vicious and ready to step on toes. Former Bayelsa state governor, Mr  Alameseigha was one we would not forget in a hurry, he was arrested in the United Kingdom for money laundering charges, and he escaped from the country dressed as a woman! Mr president then decided to grant to this wanted man pardon. Let me ask the president this question, what precedent is he laying?
The last set of ministerial nominees screened by the Senate, were said to have questions to answer as regards their tax payments and they were still cleared and assigned. That is the reason Mr President sees the Senate as its ally as against the House of Representatives who grills the heads of different public parastatals. The president sees the actions of the House as "Legislative Tyranny". This is unfortunate because the President has forgotten what President Obama went through as regards the passage of his famous 'Obama Care" or the 2013 budget, which eventually led to the shutdown of the American economy. The president should be reminded of separation of powers which is a core of Democracy and  Federalism. I need to remind the president that democracy is what is termed "tyranny of majority" as espoused by Alexis de Tocquiville, a French philosopher who studied the American democracy.
The President refused to act swift immediately the CBN governor made public the news of $20bn of  NNPC. He finally decided to order a forensic audit after about 2 months of the allegations, saying perhaps the amount might have changed if the CBN Governor had remained! What this says of him is that as a leader, he does not take any criticism from  perceived enemies! The truth is, by now the NNPC officials would have doctored the books because of the luxury of time it had enjoyed since the news broke and when the president finally decided to act.
A couple of weeks ago, there was fuel scarcity in some major parts of the country, which is a result of negligence on the part of a government official who ought to have signed some documents which would have paved way for the importation of fuel by marketers. This issue has been swept under the carpet since the queue has disappeared and NO ONE was held responsible for the hardship this caused the people. The NIS organized a recruitment exercise which led to the death of number of job seekers and till now there has been no single prosecution and NO ONE  has been held responsible and persecuted!
On Terrorism
The president should understand that terrorism is not like the regular security breach which is handled with kids glove as has been witnessed is being done by this administration. The Chibok abductions has been one which should be game-changer in the fight against terrorism in Nigeria. When the news initially broke, the government acted as if it did not believe that the abductions was true, even the PDP women leader in person of Kema Chikwe publicly doubted the veracity of this news. It took pressure from the foreign media, for the government to sit up. The military even came out with news that it had recovered the girls when this was a blatant lie!
I have a word for the president which is, he should stop believing that there has to be a bribe of some sort to the members of the public before people protest against his policies. I partook in two different protest that directly or indirectly concerned him, one benefited him, while the other did not, and i was not bribed or paid in cash or kind to partake in any of the protests marches I embarked on. He should realise that he could achieve more if he decides to look at the issues and criticisms and make up his mind to succeed and stop believing that he is witch-hunted all the time. Your gentle nature is a good attribute of yours and I am proud of it, but I need to see the charisma in my president, you can be one of the greatest leaders in history if a lot of correction is made by you Sir. I want to respect you the way I respect President Obama!
God Bless Nigeria!
