Economic effect of Boko Haram attacks

This is the popular mile 12 market in Lagos state,Nigeria.A basket of tomatoes in this market cost #3,000 three months ago,it is now in the range of #20,000 and #25,000.Questions were asked as what was the cause of this astronomical increase, the response given by these traders was that the insecurity problems in parts of northern Nigeria led to what is now being witnessed.
It was said that the traders found it difficult freely accessing the farms were they get these perishable goods, and so they go in groups to get products on one of their members farms, one after the other, thereby taking more time and more expenses than it was before to get to their farms.
And now, everyone is bearing the brunt of this situation.
